2026 T-Dog Trail Report

Trail width: ~32” (snowmachine-wide) throughout most sections

Manley ➤ Tolovana

  • Hard-packed surface

  • Deep snow off trail on both sides

  • Windblown sections throughout

  • Notable drifting between miles 20–26

  • Narrow channels in windblown areas

  • Final mile includes tight turns around trees (use caution for dog teams)

Tolovana ➤ Old Minto Turn

  • Hard-packed surface

  • Frequent windblown sections

  • Soft snow immediately off trail

  • Narrow corridor through diamond willow (Swan Neck Slough area)

Old Minto Turn ➤ Minto

  • Hard-packed surface with drifting over trail

  • Very little glare ice

  • Turn is marked with: Pie plates at 1 mile, ½ mile, at turn, and post-turn

  • Approximately 5 stakes per mile in open areas

Old Minto Turn ➤ Nenana

  • Hard-packed trail surface

  • Windblown sections throughout

  • Soft edges with holes from stuck snowmachines, occasional pits directly off trail

  • High moose activity in powerline areas

  • Dead moose was on the trail right before Ruby Marine. Moose has been removed, but literally a hair section of trail remains…hehe

Nenana ➤ Fairbanks (Trail Breaker Kennel Finish)

  • First few miles out of Nenana: Rough, lumpy, uneven surface

  • Intermittent windblown sections

  • Final ~20 miles into Fairbanks: Generally good trail conditions

  • Rougher conditions near boat launch approaching finish
