2026 Tanana Valley Sled Dog Race Recap

The 2026 Tanana Valley Sled Dog Race brought mushers, skiers, skijors, bikejors, and bikers together for a weekend across the interior.

Participants took on the T-Dog 200, T-Dog 120 (actually 133 miles), and T-Dog 50, each navigating their own distances and conditions. From the opening stretches to the final miles into Fairbanks, participants worked through changing trail conditions, long hours, and the problem solving that comes with traveling through the interior of Alaska.

Thank you to the communities that allowed T-Dog to travel through - Manley, Minto, Nenana, and Fairbanks - and for helping support the next generation of mushers and trail users, in the spirit of Susan Butcher.

This year saw a strong number of finishers across all race distances, each one reflecting the preparation, teamwork, and the ability to adapt on the trail.

T-Dog continues to be supported by a wide network of volunteers, veterinarians, sponsors, and local partners who make the event possible.

Throughout the weekend, the race reflected what T-Dog is built on - community, mentorship, and shared experience.
